Southwest Adventures provide rock climbing, mountaineering, navigation, hill walking and coasteering instruction in the South West UK. Based in Devon, we can provide climbing courses throughout the South West and Wales. All staff used are appropriately qualified. Malcolm Dickson has been a member of AMI, (Association of Mountaineering Instructors) since 1998. Members of AMI have been trained to the highest standard to instruct climbing, navigation and scrambling.
From our base in Devon we have access to many climbing areas in the South West such as; Dartmoor - Dewertone, Hay Tor, Hound Tor etc, Baggy Point, the Culm coast of North Devon, Torbay, Chudleigh and in Cornwall, Bosigran, Chair Ladder and Sennen plus Swanage and Portland in Dorset.
I will also travel to other areas such as North Wales, Wye Valley etc on request.

The climate is very mild in the south west enabling us to climb for most of the year. If you are flexible you can often climb for most of the year. When the weather does deteriorate we run navigation skills courses on Dartmoor or Exmoor or go Coasteering.
I specialise in teaching introduction to outdoor climbing courses, so if you have never climbed outdoors or are wishing to make the next step to leading on real rock give me a call.
I am also an SPA course director and can arrange SPA training, revision and assessment courses for aspiring instructors. Also offer site specific training courses, staff training and technical advice.
