Learning
to climb can be difficult, making the transition from a wall to
climbing outdoors can be a challenge. Get a professional
instructor to show you the ropes in safety! Introductory courses
are available every weekend throughout the spring and summer.
- Are you a complete beginner?
- Do you climb indoors but lack experience on real rock?
- Do you want to learn safe rope work techniques?
- Could you build a safe belay?
- Want to lead and place your own gear in safety?
- Do you want individual tuition tailored to your own needs and learn in a small group at your own pace?
- Want to climb on sea cliffs and mountain crags but lack experience?
- Learn about some self rescue techniques for when it all goes wrong!
- or just get out and be guided up some classic routes!
- Go climbing during your holiday if you are a visitor to the area come climbing for the day!
I can help you achieve all these objectives. From our base in South
West England we have access to a wide range of great climbing venues,
from the granite tors on Dartmoor, limestone at Chudleigh to
adventurous sea cliff climbs around the Devon and Cornwall coast at
places such as Bosigran, Baggy Point, Chair Ladder and Torbay. Dorset
also offers bolted sports climbs at Portland and sea cliff routes at
Swanage.

Classic South West climbs
Have you read the book Classic Rock by Ken Wilson or Pat Litttlejohn's
guide to the Southwest? These books have inspired many climbers to
visit the Southwest because of the wide variety of climbing
opportunities on the many sea cliff crags and granite tors on Dartmoor.
For example
At the Dewerstone, Central Groove (HS) and Climbers Club (VS).
At
Bosigran, Commando Ridge (VD), Doorpost (HS), Little Brown Jug (VS),
Zig Zag (VS) and Anvil Chorus HVS, Right Angle (HS) at St Gurnards Head
and Terriers Tooth Flannel Avenue and Pedulum Chimney at Chair Ladder.
On the Culm Coast Wreckers Slab (VS) or at Daddyhole in Torbay try
Gates of Eden (HS) or visit the surf beaches of North Devon and try
Kinky Boots (VS), Shangri La (S), Urizen or Lost Horizons (VS)at Baggy
Point. |

Prices
for instruction start from £130 per day and include all the equipment
needed such as helmets, harnesses etc. Remember these costs can be
shared between two people.
If you are in the South West on holiday with your family, escape for the day and book a climbing instructor and have some fun! |
